Pesticide/PCB/Chlorinated Hydrocarbon Screen
Diversified Laboratories offers the most comprehensive standard screen available in
the United States for poultry and livestock:
- 47 individual
pesticides
- 17 chlorinated compounds
- 8 individual
polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) products.
As new compounds are
found in samples submitted to the laboratory, research is done to identify the
substances and we then include them in our routine screen. If there is
possible contamination outside of our routine screening,
Diversified offers complete analytical services to identify the substance
and solve the problem. We also confirm other laboratory results using advanced gas chromatography and mass spectrometry
techniques.
For routine screening purposes, the limits for reporting specific values range from 0.002 ppm to 2.50 ppm, depending upon the pesticide in
question and the type of sample analyzed. A comprehensive summary of
reporting limits and detectability limits for routine screens is
available upon request. In addition, special methodologies can be employed to
lower the limits for quantitative reporting to one tenth of the levels shown.
Pesticides Included in the Complementary Organophosphate Pesticide Screen
Diversified Laboratories offers a separate standard complementary screen of 18 of
the most common organophosphate pesticide residues. The list of available
organophosphate pesticides numbers in the hundreds and a comprehensive screen
for all of them is not economically feasible. However, as new compounds are
found in samples, we identify the
substances and include them in the routine screen.
Below is a list of the 64 pesticides/chlorinated hydrocarbons, 8 PCB products
and 18 organophosphate pesticides we screen for.
