Diversified Laboratories, Inc. believes that post high school education is the key to changing a person’s
life “trajectory”. Education determines the type of job you get, the salary you can request, and the types
of people you interact with daily – in addition to many more life altering decisions. In support of this
effort, we are offering a $20,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior (Class of 2018), planning
to attend a four year college/university, who is the son or daughter of an NRA member company
employee. The scholarship will be paid out as follows: $2,000 for freshman year; $4,000 for sophomore
year; $6,000 for junior year; and $8,000 for senior year if the applicant maintains at least a 3.0 grade point
The scholarship will be awarded to a student who has realized the importance of education after a slow
academic start, turning lower high school grades (C's and below) during freshman and sophomore years
into stronger grades (A's and B's) during junior and senior years, changing his or her future trajectory.
Applicants must attend an accredited four-year institution, preferably majoring in one of the following
fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Agriculture, Medicine or Education. An
official school transcript is required as part the application. Two letters of recommendation are required –
one from a teacher and/or counselor and one from an National Renderers Association member (not the student’s parent). The scholarship will consider financial need documented on the Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
A 250-500 word essay explaining how and why the student changed their attitude and turned around their
educational career is required. Please also describe the student’s intended field of study and what
influences led to this chosen career.
The deadline for submission of this scholarship application and all associated documentation is March 1, 2018.
